There are some regular standards for PDF artworks when photo book printing  plants get from the clients. If they can get agreement with these regular standards, they can save much time to communication and extra works. Here we would like to list them below, if you have photo book printing, booklet printing or offset printing China, you can retrieve them for your reference. A. General Layout Standards 1. The page size of digtal files must consist with finished product, and digital files from customer must consist with proof including page numbers, book sizes and colors. 2. The Bleeding of every pages from customer is essential for photo book printing, there is different requirement of bleeding setting, but generally 3mm is okey for common requirement. 3. This Unification contains location of page number (folio), print area and page head-line. 4. Every element in digital files that should not be cut off must keep distance at least 5mm from edge, and 8mm is perfect. 5. Marks are useful in pdf files after working for booklet printing. 6. The thin line must as thick as 0.10mm and dot area coverage of color patch must bigger than 5% for booklet printing and photo book printing. B. Color Standards 1. The superimposition is required if there are solid black element in the pages that contains text, lines and color patch in offset printing China. 2. Setting the color exactly and delete unwanted spot colors. 3. We recommend use printing color space CMYK for whole pages, do not accept to use color spaces LAB and RGB normally in offset printing China. C. Font Standards 1. All the fonts must be embeded into pdf files, we can not fix the pdf if there are unembeded text inside print area. 2. All the black text must do the operation of superimposition, if there are several edition and use the same set of image, so the gray text also needs to do the operation of superimposition (overprint) in the text. D. Image Standards 1. All the image must be embeded into the pdf file. we can not fix the pdf if there have unembeded image. 2. All the image should better use the CMYK mode. Others like Lab and RGB mode are uncommendable. 3. 800dpi if adequate for the bitmap image, or else the sawtooth may occurred, 300dpi or above are recommended for Grayscale, CMYK image. E. Other Standards 1. If the files contains OPI ghaphic link method, please offer us high RES image together. 2. If the ICC color space the customer (designer) used is different from us, so please delete the ICC files or do not output ICC while created PDF files.
